Buying and caring for a turtle

22 16:02:17

Question
I'm going to the state fair next week and I want to buy a turtle, What is the best kind to buy if I have limited space? What do I look for when buying a turtle? What does a turtle need in its tank? How big a tank? Can any type of turtle be put with any kind of frogs? What do turtles eat? How do I care for my turtle?

Hope to get answer,
Thanks,

Katelyn:)

Answer
My answer would be do your research and know these things yourself a wee bit earlier than a week before you plan to get a pet you know nothing about. I'm a reptile rescuer, and my place is full of former pets that people didn't plan responsibly for or research, and then dumped later like they were trash. Don't be one of those loser impulse buyers....and certainly don't get a turtle at a fair! Go to a reputable breeder or see a reptile show for that if you must have one. Make sure you are prepared for a 20+ year commitment to something that may get as large as a dinner plate...else don't get one at all.
