Question
HI. I HAVE A LIONHEAD RABBIT WHO HAD A LITTER OF BUNNIES, ALL HEALTHY, 3 WEEKS AGO. SHE DIED THIS MORNING, NOT SURE OF THE CAUSE. HOWEVER, NOW THE BABIES ARE ORPHANS, AND UNFORTUNETLY, NOT WEANED. I DO HAVE ANOTHER NURSING DOE WITH A LITTER OF HER OWN. CAN I GIVE HER THE ORHANS FOR HER TO NURSE? A LITTLE UNSURE OF WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST THING TO DO AT THIS POINT. ANY ADVICE IS SURELY WELCOME...

Answer
Hi Kimberly,

It all depends on how many bunnies are in this litter and how many are the other litter. If they are within 1 week regarding age then they should be fine. The suriving mother cannot look after more than 8. If there are more than eight babies altogether, you will have to handrear some.

Hope this Helps
