My Bunny isnt feeling very well -- What can I do?

Question
I've had Bailey, my pet bunny,  for about 9 months now.  This past Sunday we took him for a "walk" outside (made a harness for him and let him drag us around).  He was a little shocked by the birds and the noise and tried to 'blend-in' to his environment, but loved the grass and the opportunity to check-out the neighbourhood.  Since this walk however, he hasn't been eating or drinking right (hardly any at all), and today he has developed what I shall call the tendency to 'itch': he rolls over, and won't stop scratching.  He's also anything but playful and avoids attention.

Did he pick-up a bug from the walk that is affecting his health, or is he going into withdrawl?

I'm worried about what I should do?  When we bought him at the pet store they claimed that he had had all of his shots, however I don't know what that entails, or if he should have had others since - that could be responsible for his health now?

Thank-you so much for your time in helping me out!  Both Bailey and I really appreciate the advice!!  What a wonderful service you are providing!

Answer
I would take him to a rabbit-knowledgeable veterinarian to have him checked for fleas, ticks, mites, pararsites like that.  If he has those, they can treat them with Advantage (for fleas) or ivermection (for other parasites).  If they try to give you Frontline don't take it, Frontline has been known to cause rabbit deaths.

If he ate any grass that had been sprayed with lawn chemicals, that could also be causing him issues.

And rabbits in the United States do not require shots, and in fact do not need any sort of vaccination.  Rabbits in Europe get vaccinations for VHD.

Since he is so itchy, and you probably can't see anything on him, Bailey would likely appreciate a trip to the vet to stop his itching!
