Question
Hi! I have a male outdoor mini-lop pet named Skipper ... I believe he has some slight balding around the tear duct of the his eyes.  When I feel the area of hair loss it feels moist and crusty.  I have also notices drastic change in his behavior... usually he is mellow and quiet ... but ever since I noticed this problem he has been chewing and biting...I was definatly suprized when he chewed a hole in my pants.  I dont know what to think!  What is wrong with Skipper!?

Answer
Hi Aubrey,
I believe most bunnys have a slight baldness around one eye, and the crusting is probably just sleepy. Try to get most of it off his eyes if he will let you, but if not he'll probably wash it himself. How old is your bunny? I get lots of questions asked about a change in their behaviour, normally it is to do with adolescence. I doubt it has anything to do with his eyes. When my rabbit got to about 8 months he also began chewing and biting me. But he has calmed down loads since I got him neutered. So I would suggest you got him neutered, it will mean he is more likely to live longer and he will be of a nicer nature afterwards aswell.
I hope this helps.
