Question
we have just aquired two 7 week old female lionhead lop rabbits....both are very nervous, obviously not very used to human contact.  Could you please give any advice to make these two 'happier bunnies' They will live together in a 5ft hutch, that has access to an enclosed bunny playground of a run. Thankyou, and any advice would be appreciated.(one of them has a tendency to nip!)

Answer
They are young and probably just need to get used to you.  Give them some time to get adjusted and start petting them without holding them.  When they get used to that then begin to pick them up.  Remember that rabbits are afraid of heights so hold them securely to reassure them.

The hutch and run sound great, but they may not always like to be together.  I have found that my rabbits prefer to live alone and often fight when they reach maturaty regarless of gender.

The nipping issue is difficult to deal with, I have never had one with this tendency so I am unable to help you with this.  Perhaps she is just scared and will grow out of it with time and patence.

Sorry it took a while to answer - I have been ill.  I hope this helps.
