Californian Point Color

Hello, and thank you for the opportunity to ask questions.
Question:
Is it normal for periods of molting and being born during the hot seasons to cause the point color of Californian rabbits to lighten?  I have noticed both.  Thanks!

Sheryl...absolutely! Point color is very much temperature sensitive. You'll find that when the winter arrives, the points will darken, and you may even see some smut on the pelt that wasn't 'there' before. Hpe it is not on a usabel portion of the pelt, as that would be a disqualification at ARBA shows! Good observation! and you are right on!
