Question
My rabbit was recently moved to a new hutch with a large enclosed area as well as a large cage area.  She has chosen to use the bathroom in the enclosed area.  I put her liter box in the area and then moved it outside to get her to begin using the bathroom in the cage area and also put her stool under the cage.  I can't get her to stop using the bathroom in the enclosed area.  Any suggestions.  I would like to put staw in this area in the winter but do not want her to use the bathroom on it.
Thank you,

Answer
Dear Stephanie,

I have some tips on how to litterbox train a bunny here:

www.bio.miami.edu/hare/training.html

but to tell you the truth, I've never had any luck "untraining" a bunny who has decided s/he likes a particular spot.  :(  You can try to deodorize the area with white vinegar and Febreze, and rinse it well to remove all the smell, which *might* discourage her.  But I don't hold out high hope.

I hate to say it, but I usually relent and put a litterbox where the bunny is going.

You don't mention whether the bunny is spayed, but spaying will certainly help with litterbox training:

If you don't already have a good rabbit vet who can do this operation with confidence, you can find one here:

Hope that helps.  Please write back if you have any other questions.
