my clean bunny

Question
Hi guys,
I keep my 1 year old bunny in the kitchen, and during the day his cage is open, so he is free to walk around. But every time he has to "go to the toilet" he always goes back into the cage.
A lot of people (vet included) are surprised to hear this, because they say that very often, when rabbits are free, they leave their stools all over the place.
So was it just a stroke of luck that my bunny is so clean or was he tought to behave like this? If so, how can they teach rabbits to only "go to the toilet" in their cage?
Thank you!

Answer
It was definitely your bunny's idea, not all rabbits will go back to the cage to do their business.  Some will leave droppings, which are easy to clean up, but some will also leave puddles outside the cage.

You just have an exceptionally clean and neat bunny.

You can point people to http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/litter.html for more info on litterbox training, but again, not every bunny will "get the idea."
