Getting my first bunnie tommarrow

Hello, I am getting my mini rex tomarrow, I have a small cage(1x2 feet).....will this work for two/three weeks? I have a water bottle, a food dish, a harrness & leash, I also haveplastic cat balls for him to play with and a hiding house..... other then food what should I get? Is Kaytee (the new all timaothy diet) a good food to feed? what type of hay is best and can plain newspaper be used to line his cage?

How long after I get him can I hold him? and how long will it take for him to like me?

That size cage is a little small, but will work if you let the bunny out for excersize.  I prefer a rabbit food called Manna Pro (for babies there is one called Gro).  It can be purchased at feed stores like Tractor Supply Co.  The formula they use gives rabbits the best nutrition with high fiber, low fat and good vitamins and minrals.  I would use Aspen shavings to line the cage, they work better than newspaper and are easier to clean up.  DO NOT use PINE or CEDAR they can cause breathing problems.
