Question
i just got my bunny spade and the vet said to remove her stitches 10 days later.  IMPOSSIBLE! can I take my bunny to any vet to have the stitches removed? today is the 10th day, is there any kind of grace period? I dont know what to do if I cant find a vet opened on weekends.  Also, I got her spade to control her behavior but since I got her spade she has started biting my ankles sometimes and she still isnt going back to the litter box like she did before she reached maturity.

Answer
Dear Jamie,

If you can't get the stitches out yourself, then you have a few days to take her back to the vet to get them removed.  Two weeks won't hurt.  Suture removal isn't really an emergency procedure, so you don't have to worry.

Her behavior problems might be related to her discomfort, but some bunnies become a little bit aggressive immediately post-op.  Just love her to pieces, react to her nipping with firm, gentle loving, and she will calm down.

To help her regain her litterbox habits, try the tips here:

Hope that helps!  Please write back if you have more questions.
