Question -
i found a nest of baby rabbits in my back yard and i did leave them alone for a day but then they started dying and im pretty sure it was because of the heat we took in the remaining two but one of them died and im happy to say that the other one has survived his first night we fed him baby formula(soy based) with an eye dropper we housed him(or her?) in a shoe box lined with toweling and i put the warm water bottle in a sock in there too what else can we do to make sure he stays healthy?what are some ways to keep him warm?
Answer -
Since it in illegal in most states for anyone without a license to raise/care for wild animals I am obligated to tell you to call  your local wildlife agency and ask them to refer to you a licensed rehabilitator.

I can tell you that it is VERY difficult to raise kits.  The mother's milk is unlike any other mammal and is impossible to replicate.  In addition, the doe only feeds the young at night and probably stopped comeing to the nest when she saw you near it.  The formula you are using is not appropriate and warmth for the kits usually comes from the other kits and the mother's fur.

Please, for the sake of the living kit, call someone in your area to help.

Answer
What you are doing to keep it warm is good.  Try to keep it in a container outside instead of inside the house.  In a garage or shed is good, out of the heat, but not in air conditioning.  Cat's milk replacer is as close as it gets, you may add a touch of light Karo Syrup to make up for some of the lost calories.  Just an eye dropper every 1/2 hour or so since they usually only nurse once or twice at night.
