Question
I am a new rabbit owner; picking up baby tomorrow.  I have read many articles about care & feeding....i need some good advice.
This is what i have gleaned from reading so many different articles, can you please HELP?.
1.  feed young rabbits Alphalfa hay, more protein
2.  switch to Timothy or Grass hay...what age?
3.  don't feed fruit or veggies until 6 months of age? and only as a treat...not regularly
4.  Can they have regular lawn grasses green? which could have clover, dandilion, etc etc.
5...My guinea pigs thrive on all above...so i'm a little confused...
Please advise.....NEW MOM in Canada....
Thank U

Answer
We have horses also, so I have a good hay of mixed grasses and alfalfa which my rabbits get sometimes.  I mainly feed Manna Pro Rabbit pellets, the Gro formula for the mamas and babies to about a year give or take and the Pro formula for everyone else.  The Manna Pro diet is the most complete and nutritious pellet out there for rabbits -- so much so that you don't need to supplement.  Hay is great, but they really don't NEED it with Manna Pro.

All of mine get fruits and veggies from day one, because the mama's get them.  Start whenever you wish by adding one at a time in small quantities to make sure it doesn't upset tummys.

Grasses, "weeds" et al are fine in moderation.
