Question
Hi,
My rabbits name is Vanilla and he is about 4 years old. He is a dwarf. This Saturday we are going to be renting a condo on the beach for one week. I was planning on taking my rabbit. The condo has central ac so I'm not concerned about him being hot. I am concerned about the car ride. It is 2- 2 1/2 hours away. I was also wondering if it was ok for him to stay in his carrier for the week. It's a normal dog carrier. Should I bring the normal sized cage? Is it a good idea to bring him?

Answer
You bunny should be just fine. Actually, I'd leave him home if he were mine, as I think he wouldn't like the beach... but I take rabbits to shows a lot and they do fine in carriers for a few days. I think the question is, wouldn't you have more fun at the beach without Vanilla there? and Wouldn't Vanilla have more fun at home, where he is comfortable and knows everything?  If you WANT to take him, he'll be OK, but after 4 years old, I'm guessing he's probably more comfortable in his own home. regards, Steve
