growths in the dewlap of a french lop

Question
My 4 year old French Lop has had a growth in her dewlap which grew to the size of a marble, then regressed on its own accord and completely disappeared. My vet seems to think it was a cyst. Six month later, it appeared again and disappeared as quickly as it appeared. Today I noticed another lump, but this time it was on the other side of the dewlap. I hope that this too will disappear like the others. Do you think these are cysts? There are no apparent dental problems, and the lumps do not feel like abscesses and this does not seem to be bothering her.

I have heard of some fibrous growths that can appear in the neck, but I cannot find any information on these on the web. Could you tell me about these growths and whether or not this could be my rabbit's problem?

Thank you,
Victoria

Answer
I was going to ask my vet about this today but he ran out before I could.  If the lumps are hard, I would get them checked out, they can aspirate the growth.

There is a lot of medical information at http://homepage.mac.com/mattocks/morfz/rabrefs.html  I hadn't really heard of cysts spontaneously disappearing, and she's rather young for fatty tumors (lumps of fat that are non-cancerous).

I just had 2 abscesses removed from the dewlap of a bunny, and my vet saw 2 bunnies with abscesses in the dewlap in the same week.

At least get it aspirated, and if there's nothing to worry about, then at least you will know.

I have not heard of fibrous growths, I will try to remember to ask my vet next I see him.
