QuestionI am having a problem with my dwarf lop. He was a rescue bunny so I don't know how old he is (although he is fairly young)or what kind of life he had before. I had him neutered about 6 months ago and since then his stools are getting stuck around his bottom making it difficult for him to go to the toilet and move around. I have to bath him on a regular basis which is stressful for him and I don't enjoy putting him through that. He eats food recommended by the vet and has a constant supply of hay. He lives with a guinea pig and I give them fresh carrots and dandelions. Have you got any idea about what I can do for him?
AnswerDear Lisa,
Your bunny is suffering from cecal dysbiosis, which can have many ultimate causes. You can read about it here:
www.bio.miami.edu/hare/poop.html
The most common causes are poor diet:
www.bio.miami.edu/hare/diet.html
and dental problems causing pain:

Please have a look at the three articles above, and then write back to me if you have any additional questions. If you need a good vet to help with this, please find one with the list linked here:

Hope this helps!
