Lion Head Rabbit lumps

Question
We have a lionhead rabbit (not purebred) less than a year old. SHe has developed some lumps on both sides of her genital area. They are identical lumps about 1 1/2 inches long. They are not red and don't seem to bother her. Her eating and potty habits have not changed. She is not fixed and has never had babies.

Answer
Dear Felicia,

The most likely explanation I can give you--if the bumps are symmetrical, about 1.5 inches long, relatively soft, and not inflamed looking, is that your "she" is actually a "he."  You can find pictures of rabbit genitalia here:

But what you describe sounds pretty much like normal testicles.

Congratulations?  (Good thing "she" has never had babies!)  ;)

Please write back if you have any other questions.
