rabbit bleeding????

Question
I've just looked in my rabbit hutch and in the area that she uses as a toilet, there aresmall blobs of what seem to look like reddish marks. Those areas are wet so I know she has used those corners to urinate in but I've never seen her urine look like that before. Shes certainly not pregnant and shes only 10 weeks old. Do you think shes bleeding? whats wrong with her? Im very worried. Also, her eyes look reddish (as a person would if they were sleep deprived). Usually she has bright, perky, big, brown eyes but they have a redish outter circle around them. I don't think i've done anything wrong, shes eating, drinking and excreting properly as I find many droppings in her toilet area.

Answer
Dear Sara,

Without seeing the blobs, I can't really guess what they might be.  But if she doesn't look normal to you, and her eyes are red, then I would get her to a good rabbit-experienced vet for a wellness check.

At the age of 10 weeks, it would be very unlikely for her to have a uterine problem resulting in bloody discharge, but unspayed, unbred females are at very high risk of this problem. When she is old enough (6-8 months), it would be a good idea to have her spayed.  Please see:

But for now, you can find a good rabbit vet here:

I hope this helps. Please write back if you have any other questions.
