Questionwhen is it safe to touch a kit? When is it safe to hold them for extended periods of time,(like 10-15 min.)? is it safe to have 2 does in the same cage? It would be mom and daughter. i have 6 kits that i have found homes for, how would i make sure that they are tame and people friendly for their new owners? and when is it ok to seperate the mother and kits?
AnswerBaby rabbits shouldn't be handled until they start coming out of the nest box, and even then, make sure you wash your hands very well. I wouldn't try to hold them for any extended period of time. When they are little and just getting around they tend to be very squirmy and will easily jump out of your hands and generally hit the floor.
If the younger rabbit doesn't attack the older rabbits or the babies, then it would be ok to keep them together.
Don't separate them til at least 8 weeks of age, that gives them time to be fully weaned.
