my rabbits ear has gone ???

hi, i noticed this morning(saturday), that my 4 year old rabbits ear has disintergrated, there is no blood present and his gernral health seems fine, it looks as tho its disapearing bit by bit, as my vets is not open till monday morning, i would like to know if there is any thing i can do to help him will i wait, and if you could tell me what it could be, ( he lives out doors in a wood hutch)..

Does he live with another rabbit? Sometimes rabbits will chew on each other. Is the actual ear disappearing, or just the fur? If it is the fur, you might be dealing with fur mites. Also check inside the ears for any signs of scabs or crusty material. That could be signs of ear mites. A bad infection can damage the actual ears.
