Rabbit with Arthritis

Question
Hello Dana

My Black & Tan rabbit, listening to the name of Happy, is
diagnosed with Arthritis/Artrose. Due to the enormous heatwave
we had here (in the NL) and the fact that he had a lot of pain due
to this Arthritis, he started to eat less and less. It turned out not
to be his teeth but the pain in his backlegs. He is now on
Carprofen Drops and this does miracles, but ofcourse it is only a
painkiller. I would like to also give him  some relief via
homeopatic medication.

I bougth a bottle of Glucosamine, Chondroitine & MSM with 60
capsules as this seems to help very well with rabbits, but no one
is able to give me the exact dosis I am able to give Happy.

3 capsules contain:
Glucosamine (HCI): 1050 mg
Chondroitine (Sulphate): 725 mg
MSM: 300 mg

Could you tell me what the doses has to be? Happy is about 2 kg
and 8 years old.

Thanks in advance

Answer
Dear Marie-Jose,

As with most homeopathic and "natural" remedies, there are no known doses because these substances are usually not subjected to clinical trials in which doses are determined.

I have not used these products, so cannot offer a dosage. But if you contact your local rabbit vet:

www.rabbit.org/vets

s/he may be able to help you.
