Question
I have two Lionhead rabbits which are about 18weeks old we have been told that they are both male, just over the last week one of them has been trying to head butt my hand when feeding them and also trying to hold on to me with his teeth not bitting hard but nipping sore enough he is also kicking his back legs a lot and making a lot of noise.  I have them in two seperate hutches but the other one is ok and not a problem.  Can you also suggest anything else to eat as I was told that too many carrots can cause brain damage in rabbits, and they do like cabage and broccoli.

Thankyou

Answer
I would say that from your description at least one of the rabbits has reached his sexual maturity, which generally happens at 4-6 months of age.  If you get him neutered, he will quit that behavior.  There is more info on this at http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/spay-neuter.html

There is a good article on what to feed rabbits, including veggies, at http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/diet.html  I don't do cabbage, it produces too much gas, and only occasional broccoli.  Carrots are ok in small quantities.  This is mostly because they are high in sugar and can upset their stomachs otherwise.
