Gunk/Moving Outside/Toy Suggestion

22 11:12:55

Question
I will get her to the vet as soon as possible.
Yes, I put her outside today. Do you think I should cover the hutch with a light blanket at night or bring her in? I'll put in a resting spot right away, thank you.
What exactly are wood chews? I've been seeing those words an awful lot today.

Thank You For Your Help, For It Did Indeed Help,

Question -
Good Day. My name is Matthew and I'm 15 years old. I reside in CA.
Alright I have a few questions that you may or may not be able to answer, but anything would be appreciated..
..today I was clipping my rabbit's nails (She lets me lay her on her back at an angle.) when I noticed some black/white gunk in her vaginal area, not on, but on the sides. It has some smell too. Do you happen to know what this is or what causes it? She is not spayed. I'm not sure what type of rabbit she is but she is a pretty good size white rabbit. I've had her for around 3-4 years, since she was a baby, got her from a pet store.
Another question that I have is my Aunt just went out today and bought Bunny (that's her name) a new hutch. It's big, lifted off the ground.
The thing is: she's been inside her whole life with me. Will she be okay? What kind of flooring should it have? Right now it has wire [small squares, chicken wire maybe?]
The last question I have for today is, do you have any toy suggestions? Bunny has a ripped shirt, 2 toilet paper rolls, and a house with shavings in it. Anything else that I need I'll be happy to get.
I've been looking online for stuff all day.
Please, please get back to me, it is starting to worry me..I just don't want her to be in any pain or discomfort.
Thank You,
Matthew Dale of CA

Hello,
I am not sure what you are describing. I would have a local vet check that out. As it could be a number of things. With your discription I would say your breed of rabbit is a New Zealand White.
If you will be moving her outside, I would do it as soon as possible. I am not sure how your weather goes, but you want it at a steady temperature.
The cage you describe sounds good. I know most people suggest a solid bottom cage, but i use wire bottoms, with wooden resting spots for mine.
for toys i use toilet paper rolls as you described, and wooden chews. Pretty much anything she can toss around she will like. Or anything safe for her to chew on.
Hope this helps.

Answer
If the hutch does't have a solid side or two then yes, some type of protection should be placed over her, from drafts and stuff.
wood chews are untreated wood, usually colorfull if you buy them in the store. sometimes they are shaped and others just like cylinders. Bunnnies like to gnaw on them.
