QuestionI am planning on buying a Rabbit, is it best to get 2 rather than 1? and which combination is best? I don't want babies so Male & Female is out of the question. Will 2 males fight?
AnswerDear Samantha,
Before you buy a rabbit, please read this:
www.bio.miami.edu/hare/firstrabbit.html
and especially:
http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/multiple.html
Please don't buy a bunny. Instead, adopt a needy rescued bun from your local rescuer:
http://www.rabbit.org/adoption/index.html
You'll know the personality of the bunny/ies you adopt, they'll already be spayed/neutered (saving you hundreds of dollars and lots of anxiety), and the fosterer can help you with all the best information for a long, happy life together. A bonded pair (usually a neutered male and a spayed female) is the best! Rabbits love to have the company of their own, but they are very picky and will fight ferociously if they don't like each other. So be sure to let your local rescuer help you pick the right bunnies!
I hope this helps. Good luck!
Dana
