breeding with larger male

Question
Hello Samantha
I am curious if it is ok to breed a 3lb dutch female with a 6lb rex male.  If it was the other way around, I am sure it would be no big deal, I just want to look out for the best interest of our bunny that we love so much. Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi, It should be fine breeding them, although i will make no garuntees. It is best to breed a smaller buck to her, if it is her first litter.
Another thing you need to look into is how you will sell the babies. or give them away. It is harder to get rid of a mixed breed than a purebred. Bunnies are not like dogs, and the mixed ones do not sell for more.
Again i make no garuntees but you could give it a shot, i have done it before. that is using a larger buck to a smaller doe.
