Sisal safe to eat?

Hi, I bought this "Grass Mat" from the pet store and it's made out of sisal.  My bunny has started grazing on it like hay.  I do keep a generous amount of hay in his cage, but sometimes he likes to come to the sisal mat at start eating some of it.  Is it safe for him to eat it?

Sisal is extremely safe for rabbits.  They make a lot of bunny products out if sisal, including your mats, twine, and balls and other things.

Of course, a particular bunny may have an allergy to anything, but it would be very unusual for them to have a problem with sisal.
