Rabbit Eye-Color

Question
Hi,

My rabbit has red eyes and always has a blank look in them.  She runs around and through things, but not into things, so she doesn't seem to have an eyesight problem.  However, when I had her at the vet recently, the doctor was concerned that when a light was shined in her eyes she didn't blink/have strong blinking reflexes.  Is this normal in red-eyed rabbits or should we pursue the concern that she may have a neurological problem?

Thank you!

Answer
Red eyed rabbits do process light differently than ones with fully coloured eyes. If you ever see her swaying side to side that is due to eye colour, too. It helps them process images better. So direct light does not always affect them as it does regular coloured rabbits.
