Question
hey i was just wondering what time of the year is best to breed my doe rabbits? it is winter down here and every time i stick my doe in with my buck she is willing to let him breeed her even in the winter? why is this, is it normal? hopeyou can help me!
         thanks, wendy!

Answer
Rabbits can really breed any time of the year. In the spring they are more likely to have babies and larger litters. Winter breeding is more difficult because of the short day lenght, and it is light that makes a doe more receptive. I would recomend breeding in the spring mainly because it is easier on the babies. Winter is really hard on them because they get cold so easy. I would only breed them now if they are in a building or you can put a heat lamp over them.
