Question
Next year I plan on living with a friend. We both have rabbits, both are males. They don't get along very well, as you might imagine. Hers is also a bit bigger than mine. Anyway, I was wondering if there is anything we can do to help them get along. She said she read something about letting them fight, but I'm kind of wary about that since my rabbit isn't as big or aggressive at all.
Her rabbit also bites me. I think it's because I smell like my rabbit, but is there a way to stop that too? I have a scar on my wrist from a time he latched on.
I heard that getting them neutered would lower the aggression, which makes sense, but she doesn't have a vet so I don't know if she'll do it.
Also, my rabbit just had surgery on his eye and may lose it. I heard they adjust well to this sort of thing and I'm really hoping this is true. I'm doing everything I can to help him keep it, but if he does lose it will he be ok?

Answer
Hi Lisa,
I wouldn't put the 2 boys together at all.  You can put the 2 cages beside eachother but putting them together to play is a bad idea and won't happen the way you would like it to unfortunately. Males are extremely aggressive and will fight given any chance.  I would protect your bun and keep him seperated from the other who sounds extremely aggressive! Just let them out at seperate intervals...sorry to let you down...good luck and enjoy your new place! Elizabeth
