QuestionMy rabbit has just had 4 babies. We have a huge outdoor pen/run for her and would like her to have company. Is it possible to keep the female rabbits? What are the chances of them getting on? When should I separate the boys from the girls? Thanks for your help.
AnswerHi Karen,
she can have company, but be aware they will probably fight from time to time. Intact females are more likely to fight. You should separate males and females around 10 weeks.
Your females will live longer if you spay them. Over 80% of females over 5 get uterine cancer and die at 5 or 6. Spayed females can live 10-12 years. It's a painful death (and premature too) for them.
