broken rabbit leg help

my rabbit just got a cast on his right back leg and is starting to chew at it what should i do

Dear Billy,

If he's not damaging his leg, then his chewing on the cast itself probably won't be harmful, as long as he doesn't actually damage the cast or eat it.

Please consult your vet about some pain medication for the bunny, which might help.  We have found that a combination of tramadol and metacam is excellent for pain management in rabbits, and the tramadol might calm him down just enough so that he stops worrying at the leg.  Please ask your vet about this.
