Question
Hello Sheila,

My girlfriend and I are going away for a three weeks for vacation and planning to take our 7 months old nutured male rabbit to my mother's place during that time. My mother does not have any other animals and coco is the only rabbit. The only concern i have is that i am afraid he might not get used to the enviornment and be depressed the whole time. Coco have never been to my mother's place before and i'm not so sure if he will get used to the new enviornment and my mom for three weeks. Do you think it will be ok? Coco have never been outside of our home and we usually let him run around the house freely all day. He is litter trained.

Answer
To be sure he will be depressed - his love is going away.  But if your Mother can give him lots of cuddling he should get used to her and be ok.  Hopefully your Mother can let him roam freely in at least one room protected ( you know, no electrical cords, etc. etc. ) - since he is used to freedom putting him in a cage is very traumatic.

Have a nice vacation !
