QuestionHi, I have a lionhead rabbit (25 months old) and I just noticed 2 days ago that there are some dandruff like scales on the back of his two ears. He does not scratch his ears at all and is eating/drinking/going to the bathroom fine. Also, I live in the Boston area and the weather is changing from cold and hot pretty rapidly in the last 2 weeks. When I use the wired brush the comb his fur, it seems like he is shedding more than before. Is this affected by the weather change, or does it have anything to do with whatever is causing the dandruff? Thank you for answering my questions.

Flaky skin is characteristic of fur mites in rabbits. These are easily and safely treated with Revolution (selamectin) from your vet. Please see:
