Question
QUESTION: one of my rabbits is loosing its nails which are then bleeding. I dont know the cause. Her diet hasn't changed and believe it to be very healthy, her nails are kept trimmed to the correct length. She does live on wire however, as she is an angora but i do not know any other breeders with the same problem. Please could you tell me what is causing it and how i can prevent/ stop it
ANSWER: Kay, sound like she is catching them on the floor of the cage or in the door when she is removed from the cage. If you are sure this is not the problem then I would suspect a vitamin deficiency.  What does she eat and how old is she ?

QUESTION: she is almost 1 year old. She eats rabbit nuggets, hay and greens

Answer
Kay, are the nuggets pet store variety ?  Many times pet store food is pretty and tasty but deficient in essential nutrients.  Try getting some horse vitamins and give her a mini mini dose every other day - example " RED CELL " give her one drop every other day for a week and then twice a week for two weeks and then once a week after that.  I am more inclined to blame nails being caught when removed from her cage - who is picking her up when you are not home ?
