Question
I have three rabbits. Mufasa my lionhead doe, Rafiki my lionhead buck and Pumba my little sweetheart dwarf. Mufasa loves to cuddle and will lay on my chest for hours if Im petting her. She will lick my face constantly, and she licks so hard that I think shes guna bite me but doesnt. What does this mean?
Also, Pumba will run up to the cage whenever anyone comes up to it and will stand up on her hind legs leaning against the cage. Does that mean she wants me to pick her up?
Im just curious, I dont want to waste your time or nothing is if your busy its okay.

Answer
Hi Kendra,

Licking face:  she is grooming you back.  It is a sign of great affection.  Rabbits only groom (lick) their good friends.

Standing up on hind legs when people approach:  most likely she is hoping for a treat or something.  If you have both a top opening and side opening cage, and if you ever give treats from the top door, she may be hoping for a treat.  Otherwise she is just rising up to greet whoever is coming by.  My guys usually do it in anticipation of something tasty.
