Question
Hello,
i have a 7 yr old mini rex rabbit a doe she lives inside and is potty trained tonight while giving her her treat to get her in her cage as i picked her up i noticed a growth on her abdomen. It size and shape is as if you chopped a golf ball in half and placed the flat side on the abdomen. it is firm not squishy im very concerned we are calling the vet 1st thing tommarow and making a appointment for tommarow any ideas i know there is a wide variety of things it could be even possibly cancer but i want to know if theres other possibilities. Please Answer im so concerned and i would like to know asap even know she is visiting the vet 1st thing tommarow one thing about it is that it WAS NOT present yesterday i know this because i handle her daily and you could not miss it.

Answer
Hi Shelli

Is she spayed?  It could very well be cancer.  It could be a fur ball that is stuck.  It could be a chunk of food that is not digested.  It could be a tumor.  If it is on the outside (not inside the digestive tract) it could be a fly larvae that layed an egg and it could be a maggot that is growing inside of her.

There are so many things it could be.  Honestly as long as she is eating and drinking and acting normal and you plan on going to the vet tomorrow then I wouldn't stress to much.  There isn't to much you can do about it right now.  Without diagnostic tests it is impossible to tell what it is.

I will pray that your precious little bunny is ok.  Please let me know what the vet says.

Good luck

Pam
