QuestionMy daughter has a 2 yr. old unspayed female Holland lop=she has been seen by our vet and given ear drops and antibiotics because her temp was elevated. Her neck is still slightly crooked-but her behavior is normal. She is a 4-H bunny. My question is this:(I couldn't ask in front of daughter)there is no reason to have her culled correct?? she may not win more blue ribbons-but she is a snuggle bunny and very sweet. It has been 2 weeks since her neck went askew and she started meds-might not her neck return to normal?? Thank you for your time. Nekoe Fisher
AnswerDear Nekoe,
There is no reason to euthanize a bunny who has head tilt. I hope this article will help you:
www.bio.miami.edu/hare/tilt.html
and this one may help the vet, as it was written by a rabbit expert vet:

I hope your little snuggle bun will have a straight head soon, but we've had bunnies who had head tilt all their lives and were perfectly happy. Massage and physical therapy as well as exercise can help a lot, once the initial causative pathogen (infection or E. cuniculi) is treated.
I hope this helps!
