Question
Hello.
our mini lop rabbit had babies about 2 and a half weeks ago. While the rest are jumping and walking around we have one that is a bit larger then the rest and cant use his legs effectively. they stick straight out to his sides and moves them back and forth to some what crawl. it looks as if he is swimming. what should we do?
thanks for any help!

Katherine

Answer
It sounds like he has splay leg. This is common in overly large kits. Basically, their excessive weight keeps their legs  spread out to the side during the crucial skeletal and muscle development stages of growing.

http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/splayleg.html has a guide for helping to correct it.
