Question
i got 2 rabbits from the local school when i opened my pre school, i took them to the vet at 8 wks and was told they were both girls this morning i went out and found white fur scattered around the rabbit area which i have never seen before the both rabbits have been friskey to each other and was told this is normal for girls, one rabbit is bigger than the other one, i was told this is one way to find out if one is a girl or a boy, i have not had rabbits before and i am a bit worried that i have been told the wrong information and that one of them is pregnant

Answer
Here's some possibilities:
1.  That you did end up with a boy and girl
2.  They are still working out which rabbit is going to be the alpha rabbit
3.  They may have started fighting

Rabbits can be tough to sex. Sometimes 8 weeks isn't old enough to yet know if one is a boy.  This site has some good pictures on sexing your rabbits: http://www.rabbitnetwork.org/articles/sexing.shtml
At the bottom of the page, there are links for how to tell a boy from a girl.  Hopefully, you did end up with girls.  But if the fur starts ending up in a nest, you either have a boy and girl, or one of the girls is going through false pregnancy (when rabbits think they're pregnant, but aren't).

As for the mounting behavior, mounting is one way that rabbits use to communicate with each other who is the dominant one in the rabbit social hierarchy.  Rabbits of any sex will do this.  It may go back and forth awhile until they work out who is top bunny.

Another thing that could have happened is that they have started fighting.  This could be a combination of entering puberty and working out the rabbit alpha.  When rabbits enter puberty, the hormones can make them more territorial.  They may get moodier, and aggressive around the cage, food, toys, etc.  If they're still working out the alpha, any mounting could be getting too rough, or they may have a fight from time to time.

It helps if the rabbits get spayed.  This will decrease any territorial behavior and rabbits get along much easier when everyone has been fixed.  If you get them fixed, you'll also avoid health problems down the road and false pregnancies.

If you're still unsure what sex they are after looking at that site, you could ask a vet to sex them for you.  And you should seriously think of getting them fixed anyway.

I hope this helps, good luck
