Question
I don't know if you know the answer to this or not but I am curious why all rabbits seem to constantly twitch their noses even when they are sleeping?  just curious.

Melissa

Answer
Hi Melissa

I guess it kind of dates back to their wild ancestors or even rabbits that live outside but their anatomy is sort of geared towards smelling and escaping from predators.  Their noses constantly move even while they are sleeping because wiggling their nose causes an increase in airflow and it increases their ability to smell things.

When they wiggle their nose it also separates the split in their upper lip and this helps to moisturize the air and this will also helps to improve their ability to smell because it keeps their sinus's from getting clogged.

I hope that answers your question.

Good luck

Pam
