Question
hi i am wondering if anyone can help me we have 2 rabbits the female is a eastern cottontail and we have had her for about 3 weeks and she is between 8-10 weeks old we have just recently got a male of around the same age but smaller than her it is a rex rabbit that looks like a dalmation i have two questions
1)everytime the male goes near the female either in the hutch or in the house she chases him and bites him what do i do???
2)if we do finally get this problem sorted would they breed or just be companions
if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated

thankyou

Answer
hi michael -you will find it very hard to put them together -youcan only really do this if they come out the same litter together.
the female thinks the buck is intruding on her ground so will try and fight him off.
i'm afraid you may have to keep them seperated -youcan try and breed them but wait until the doe is at least 4 to 5 months old.
