Question
hey, i bought 2 male rabbits about 5 months ago and they were best buddies. but recently my father got a female rabbit so they could mate, but that didn't work out the 2 males have become to hate each other and fight. so if i take the female away and try to rebond the males will it work or wll they still fight.  PLEASE help me find a solution that i could still keep the 2 males if i have to give the female away i will but I'm really attached to the 2 males is their anyway i could get them to be friends again. it is impossible for me to get them neutered or spayed my parents don't agree.

Answer
Dear Sara,

The ONLY solution to this problem is to have all three rabbits spayed/neutered.  I wish I could tell you otherwise, but that is the truth, and anyone that tells you otherwise is just wasting your time.

Rabbits are extremely territorial, and I'm not surprised that sexual rivalry ruined the bond between your two previously loving male pals.  It's really a shame your dad brought the female home, but what's done is done.

Please tell your parents that spay/neuter is the ONLY answer, and your rabbits will fight until this is done.  Once they are spayed/neutered, careful re-bonding might work to re-establish their friendship, but it will take time.  You can learn what to do with the articles here:

I hope this helps.
