rabbit toe nail cuting

.. MY rabbit,  Marshmallow's, toenail is long. I am scared to cut it. I know where to cut it but i am afraid it might bleed. The good vets are far away from my house. So is the quick the pink? Should i cut them really little and keep on doing that for a week.. etc????

Hi Susie,

The solid coloured part of the nail (sometimes pink sometimes an opaque white or other colour) is the quik.  If you take your time, get someone else to hold the rabbit still and stay away from the solid colour you should be fine.  If you are unsure, it's better to leave the nails a little long than cut too much off.
