My drawf lop has very runny stools

Question
My dwarf lop Holly (F 38 months old)over the past week has become very lethargic and has also become very docile and out of characture been able to be petted and picked up. Her bottom is covered in soft poo and her body mass seems to have thinned out very rapidly, I have been cleaning her bottom twice daily for 2 days in a warm saline solution. Her companion rabbit (M 64 months old) is fine and is as active as normal. He is taking alot of time to groom her, again out of characture as she is the one who tends to groom him. The rabbits enjoy a diet which consists of fresh carrots, parsnips and more recently potatoe peelings aswell as pellets and hay, they have been shunning the hay in preferance to the carrots and parsnips etc. Today we have stopped all fresh foods and put them on a strict Hay, pellets and water diet and confined her to the hutch they normally have full liberty of the garden. Any help and or advice would be most welcome. Thanks in advance.

Answer
It definitely sounds like you're doing everything *right* For the time being keep her on just hay, limited pellets and water. Some unflavored Pedialyte might also help to keep her hydrated, but if she doesn't improve then you'll need to bring her to the vet because diarrhea can become very serious, VERY quickly.

Her weight loss is definitely concerning, and could indicate something like coccidea (http://homepage.mac.com/mattocks/morfz/rabrefs.html#coc)

You can find a list of rabbit savvy vets here:

And, if finances are an issue, some vets will offer payment plans. CareCredit is also a way to get the extra funds you need for vet bills:
