Question
i have a mini lop (male, who is a very calm, docile rabbit.  when i pick him up, so that his head is under my chin and his feet securely rested on my arm, he makes little squeaking noises, sort of like a guinea pig.  i assume this means that he feels happy, am i right?

Answer
Hi Melissa,

I think you are right.  It's a "purr".  Some buns will make a vocal sound and some with lightly grind their teeth (much different noise that the harsh grinding of teeth that shows pain).  If he is not neutered, that can also be a sign of sexual arousal (not trying to be graphic here).  But regardless, it does sound to me like a happy sound.
