Question
i have 5 rabbits, one of them had 2 babies about 6 months ago. one of the babies was a male so we took him out the cage.since then we kept the mother and the female baby in the one hutch/run.the other night all i could hear was banging coming from the area the rabbits were. in the morning i went to see them and the mother had alot of fur missing from her back.(i know this wasnt from cats or any other animals because they are in a shed) now everytime i go to see them more fur is missing and is starting to bleed. why do you think the baby is doing this to her mother?

Answer
Dear Natalie,

Either the sexing wasn't done correctly, or the baby is starting to reach sexual maturity and is trying to exert dominance over her mother.  They need a much bigger space so they can both get away from each other and all the bunnies must be spayed/neutered ASAP so that they can be re-bonded and live as a family group (in a large space!) without fighting.  Please read:

and find a good rabbit vet here:

Once everyone is "fixed," you can find excellent tips for bonding here:

and good ideas for housing and litterbox training here:

Hope that helps!  I know it's a lot of reading, but I know you'll be very glad to use this information to help your bunnies get along without fighting.

Good luck!
