my rabbit had kits.

My rabbits had babies 1 on Monday and 3 today, all of them died but when we found them only 1, the one from Monday looked like a somewhat normal kit, the other 3 looked as if they weren't ready to come out could you tell me what could have caused this?  Also, when i found my rabbit there was blood all over her chest and face could she have pulled them out?

Dear Patricia,

There are many reasons that a rabbit can have deformed or premature babies, including congenital deformities or other problems or stress on the part of the mother.  We'd need much more information on this case to know why this happened to your bunny.

It may be that your bunny was pulling the babies out during delivery because she was having some difficulty delivering them.  It's lucky she is fine now.
