unusual breathing pattern and behaviour

Question
Our 6 year old rabbit "Clifford" has just recently finished a course of antibiotics (Baytril 2.5%) and Fucithalmic eye drops for the treatment of a moderate abcess over its eye (capsule of abcess came off spontaneously) This has healed really well. However, our Rabbit for the past few days has been sitting in the same position and place in its hutch for most of the day and its breathing appears quite fast (notible by its head bobbing up and down). Other than this she is eating, drinking, defacating as normal. Is there anything that I should be concerned with??
Many thanks
Ian

Answer
Dear Ian,

The behavior you describe isn't normal, and I'd worry that she either has an upper respiratory infection or pneumonia, or is overheating.  I would get her back to the vet and explain what you are seeing.  The vet may wish to do chest radiographs to see if there is something causing her to have trouble breathing.

You can find a good vet here:

www.rabbit.org/vets

Note that if it's warmer than 80 Farenheit, it's too warm for her, and she needs a cool refuge where she won't overheat.

I hope this helps.
