Question
Hi, I wanted to get another persons opinion. I have two bunnies, a boy and a
girl. The girl is 6 months old and the boy is about 8 weeks old. Four or five
days ago the boy was humping the girl none stop. And latly she has been
scared and doesn't like it when I touch her stomach. If i did touch it she
would cry. I wanted to know if their is a possiablity that my girl bunny would
be pregnant. And then she also breath hard even though she didint run or
walk or do anything to cause that. so would this is a possiablity that my girl
bunny is pregnant?-Lizzie

Answer
Hi,

first, separate your rabbits.  They will begin fighting now that hte male is doing that.  Get another cage.  Don't let them play together anymore until they are both fixed.

second, she's probably in a false pregnancy.

Finally, get your gal fixed first by a good rabbit vet.  In about 2 months, get your boy bunny fixed.  There are so many advantages in having fixed rabbits.  Read up at the House Rabbit Society (www.rabbit.org).

Also, the key is having a GOOD rabbit vet.  Not all are.  Don't have anyone but a good rabbit vet do surgeries.  Start here:

and find a House Rabbit Society recommended vet near you.
