Picky rabbit wont eat hay

Question
My rabbit has never wanted to eat leaves, grass, or hay. I let it pass until I found out how important it is for rabbits to eat hay - so I decided to buy some alfalfa hay. He didn't like it and never ate it. Eventually, I found out since he was over 1 year old, timothy hay was best for him, but I live in Puerto Rico and it's really hard to come across that kind of hay. I finally found many online pages where they sell many kinds of hay, but I'm not sure which one I should feed my rabbit: should I just give him timothy hay, or can I use different kinds? And the most important thing of all, how can I get him to eat hay? He's four years old now, is it too late?

Answer
hello julimar

yes you are right rabbits need hay. It is the most important part of their diet. any kind of hay is fine, to be honest there is not much difference between each brand.

no it is never too late to start feeding him hay.

just keep putting hay in his cage without no food, he will soon eat it if he is hungry, then later in the day give him his pellet food.

hope this helps
