Question
my rabbit has now been in labour for the last 48 hours at 7.pm yesterday I took her to the vet where she was given an injection to help her along at 6.am she had her first kit she then had another at 9.30am both were born dead since then she has had no more, and is still in labour we know that there are more to come as the vet told us she is having a large litter she has been having contractions regular, is this normal

Answer
Dear Teresa,

It's certainly not normal for a labor to be this difficult, and at this point she should certainly have a Caesarian section and probably be spayed to prevent this type of thing from happening to her again.  Please find a rabbit expert vet immediately:

and have this done to save her life.  It really sounds as if she needs surgical intervention now, and time should not be wasted.  Please also read:

I hope she will be fine.
